Translation in an Artificial Periscope: Problems and Solutions
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a renowned modern set of technologies that enable computers to perform series of advanced functions meant to serve humanity. The intelligence includes the ability to see, comprehend, analyze data, make recommendation and translate spoken and written contents in various human languages. This article entitled "Translation in an Artificial Periscope: Problems and Solution" aims to investigate tools related to artificial intelligence for benefits in Translation Arts and Practices, examine the transformative impact of Artificial intelligence (AI) on Language learning focusing on Translation in particular and Arabic language in general, indentify major problems in using AI application to enhance Translation in Arabic language, suggest solutions based on the norms and standard of classic Arts of Translation. This research explores a descriptive method to approach the study and analyses. It was recommended that certain limit should be observed in the use of modern technology in Translation arts and that the fundamental steps of Translation should be taken with strict adherence to its principles which include readings and revisions.
